This is a technique that has been used in different game genres: The most obvious one being video games. The whole goal is to put something in your mind that tells your brain to act in a certain way: “This is what I want to do.” With meditation, you would focus on your breathing and focus on being still and listening to your body.
This seems like a simple idea, but it takes some practice to do it right. As a general rule, it’s a good idea to start practicing meditation before your next game night. This is done by sitting quietly for at least 15 minutes, then doing light exercises while you’re doing your meditation. It’s a great way to start getting into your body and focusing on whatever is going on in the present.
I often tell new players to try meditation before they play a new game. Its not about the endorphins, it’s about the calming effect it can have on you. A large part of having a good time in our games is just being in the moment. The best thing about the game is that you can really just be in the moment.
