Our minds are incredibly powerful. We can think and act in a way that changes our physical and emotional experience every day and that is the way we are wired. Meditation, in turn, is the practice of focusing on the breath, the body’s sensations, and the environment. It is a practice that has been used for thousands of years. It is the cornerstone of spiritual practice.
This is something that I have been doing at least since I was in college, and I did it on my own, not with a group. When I first told my brother I was going to be a monk, he was the first to say, “Well, you don’t have to be a monk in order to be a monk.” I remember thinking it was a pretty gross statement and so I found a monastery that was a few hours from home.
The monastery is called a “Bikrami Monastery.” It is a place of peace and serenity. You can actually meditate on your own in a room full of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, with only the sound of your own breathing as a distraction.
If you are a monk or a monk-y person, you can actually meditate on your own on the grounds of your home. There are about 20 different locations around the world where you can meditate, and some of them can only be accessed by a group of monks. The purpose of the Bikrami Monastery is to provide a place where you can meditate, even if you are alone.
Since you can’t meditate in the real world, the Bikrami monastery is set up so that you can meditate in its gardens. The gardens are a part of the surrounding forest that is also part of the Bikrami’s grounds. In addition, there are a number of other places that you can meditate at, depending on where you live.
The monks at the Bikrami monastery are actually all living monks, but they only get to meditate in the gardens of the monastery. They can only see each other in the gardens, and they can only see the garden outside via a glass window. The gardens are the only place you can go to meditate, and are a way of making you feel less isolated.
At first, I thought the idea of meditating in nature was just for hippies, but it has really caught on among more educated people. I mean, I know a lot of people who go to an eco-camp or a monastery, and all they spend a lot of time doing is going for long walks and not spending a lot of time meditating.
I mean, I think it’s a good idea. I think it’s an important part of the human experience to take time for ourselves. I think it’s a powerful way of getting the brain off of autopilot. And a lot of people who have the mental capacity to do it have also the physical capacity to go to a temple or monastery, or even to go off to a meditation retreat.
I mean, its not like meditation is going to get you to the next level of enlightenment. Like, at the end of the day, meditation is just going for a walk. For the rest of us it’s going to get us to the next level of mental and physical capacity.
Well, it does. The point is to really think about what you’re doing. Don’t just do it, think about it. Think about what you’re doing.
