If there’s a morning where you need a meditation practice, one that makes you pause and pay attention to the details of your life, you’re in luck. I’ve found that if I meditate before running an errand or before eating breakfast, or just before I wake up, I can feel the morning breath more deeply.
Ive found that it can be helpful to do guided meditation before my day starts up and I am feeling a little stressed out. In my particular case Ive found that it helps me focus a little and allows me to have more calm during my busy day. I always start my day with meditation on my phone.
I started meditating before I was officially born for two reasons: 1) to calm myself down, and 2) to calm my baby. Baby, I might add, is in the middle of the night being woken up by a loud baby screaming. I don’t know about you, but I know when its baby and I get stressed out. I always start out by just using my phone.
I found that I have to remind myself that I’m the one who started doing it. I’m the one who decided to start meditating for good health reasons, not for the sake of my baby. I’m the one who decided to start meditating for the sake of my sanity. If I start meditating, it’s because I feel I need to. If I start meditating, it’s because I feel I have to.
Meditating for one purpose leads to another. It’s like a chain reaction, and the more I meditate, the less I remember my body and the more I forget my feelings and the less I notice my surroundings. For this reason, I prefer to read a book or write a blog before starting meditating. It’s good to be reminded of all the things we know and the things we don’t.
Just like how you don’t want to miss a train or a bus, you don’t want to miss an hour of meditating. That is because the more you meditate, the less you remember your body. After 15 minutes, your brain will start to forget everything but the mind, and by the time you go to bed, you will have forgotten everything but your mind and the feelings you experienced the previous day.
I know I am not alone in my opinion. A friend of mine who is a Buddhist says he can feel the difference in the quality of his day when he sits and meditates. I agree. I know I can see it too.
That’s why guided meditation is so important. It’s the act of focusing your awareness on a particular area of your mind, leaving your body behind, and gradually allowing your emotions to trickle into your awareness.
