I think that what makes meditation so powerful is that it allows us to stop and go back to our body without interrupting the flow of our thoughts and emotions. The idea is that the body is so busy with what it is doing in the moment that we miss some of the finer details. When we are meditating, we are in that body and we are able to take our time, pause, and look into our own minds.
The same can be said of the mind. When we are meditating, we can look at our thoughts and feelings and notice how they are flowing, what kind of thoughts we are having, and what we are feeling. When we look at our mind, we are able to really stop and see what is happening and what we are thinking.
