It is only a matter of time before new moon meditation begins to look like a new normal for us. I can’t tell you how much I love to meditate. I find it to be one of the most profound moments in my life because it is the calm before the storm.
New moon meditation is actually a very common practice in the Buddhist tradition. In fact, there are many different types of meditation to suit the individual needs of the person. Some people meditate for only a brief period, while others meditate for several hours each day. This is all fine, but when you meditate for so long, it tends to cause a lot of stress.
In my own practice I use the New Moon to clear my mind and to remind me that I am not going to be distracted or think about my worries for too long. It also helps me to focus better because of the increased concentration.
I meditated for 30 minutes yesterday and it was a very good time and I really didn’t notice any stress. But still, there are times when you need to use willpower for a long period of time. And, although this is a common thing that people do, I’m not sure that the New Moon meditation is something that is used as often as it should be. The meditation is said to have been created by Laozi, a Buddhist master.
I’ve always been a person who likes to meditate. I meditate because I like the feeling of peace that a good meditation brings. But the fact is that I’ve meditated as many times as I like. But the New Moon meditation has actually been used as many as three times in the last two weeks.
A person can meditate for many reasons (and this can vary from person to person), but the main reason is to quiet the mind and center it in the present moment. To do this, a person must imagine the full moon and the sun setting as they experience the New Moon, as well as imagine that the sun is rising to meet the New Moon. This can be done by standing in front of a mirror and rubbing your eyes.
It may sound silly, but it’s not that hard. If you’re familiar with the sun rising in such a way, you can do it with your eyes closed, but that’s not actually a new moon meditation in the traditional sense. The New Moon meditation involves opening your heart to the heart of the New Moon, as well as imagining that the sun is rising to greet the New Moon.
This is similar to the sun rising in the above example, but it has an added twist. If youre not familiar with the sun rising in such a way, you can do it by standing in front of a mirror and rubbing your eyes.
The idea is to raise your heart rate and blood pressure, inducing a sort of stress-response and the release of dopamine. This is a good thing. It’s the same idea as meditation, except it’s done with your eyes closed.
New moon is a time of reflection and self-examination, and the sun rising is an exercise in self-discipline. This time of reflection is what happens when we’re on autopilot in the New Moon phase. We usually go through these phases very quickly, and its easy to forget that we’re in a slow-motion car journey (or a slow-motion airplane flight) if we’re not paying attention.
