You are trying to make yourself believe that you are going to be a master of your own personal spiritual growth. I know it can be a bit of a stretch to think of meditation as a spiritual practice, but its not unheard of for people to do it. I don’t particularly recommend it, though.

There are some techniques to help you do this, but most of the time, it’s just like any other anxiety. You just have to learn to deal with it.
When you meditate, you are supposed to imagine yourself in a room surrounded by beautiful objects. You are supposed to imagine that you are the person sitting on the throne, looking over the room and enjoying the view. You are supposed to concentrate on the objects in the room and imagine them as being the same size, moving the same way, etc. You are supposed to focus on the objects, not on your anxiety.
