I love this book. I’ve recommended it to friends and family. When I first read it, it was with a lot of skepticism because of how the author said it was a “self-help” book. However, it was a really great read and I recommend it to anyone who wants to become more aware of their thoughts, actions, and feelings.
That said, the author is really good at making sure she’s being as straightforward with her message as possible. She starts by explaining that the key to success is to know yourself. This means that you need to study and become educated about your life and what makes you tick before you can get to work.

A lot of people are reluctant to try meditation because they think it’s too boring and they don’t want to risk being bored. There are a lot of people in this country who are meditating, and they really enjoy it, but I have to say that I’ve never met anyone who actually got to the point where they could sit for hours and not get bored.
The thing about meditation is that you can literally sit for hours on end, but at some point you have to decide if you want to wake up every morning and sit there for hours again or just go back to sleep. The first option is definitely the best, but some people have found it boring and they dont want to do that. So they end up sitting all day long. What is the point of that? You need to find the right way to be meditative.
