The first part of the White Light Protection Meditation is to visualize a white light from the sun (or any source, like the moon) shining down on your body. This is done while the sun is at its brightest. It is also done while the sun is at its darkest. At its brightest, the sun is a blue-white color (unless you are in the water). As the sun continues to get brighter, it gradually becomes a deep blue color.
The second part includes the same idea, but with the sun at its darkest. You then visualize that you are bathed in a watery light and only see the reflection of the water in your eyes. You then close your eyes and visualize that this is also a white light and you are in a calm warm place.
Sounds like a weird idea, but then again, that’s exactly what a white-light meditation seems to be to me. I guess it does get a little bit difficult, but if you practice more than once, you can get the hang of it.
It is a very strange idea. Sounds like a lot of work, but if you take it slow and get into the habit, it can be a real game changer.

Yes, the thought process behind white light meditation is a little weird. If you are in a normal room and you are surrounded by normal light, you would be able to feel your surroundings and see the surrounding objects. But if you are in a cave and you are surrounded by white light, you will feel as if you are surrounded by light, but you will not be able to see yourself. It’s a bit like being in a dark room with no light.
The concept is that you are surrounded by white light, but you actually cannot see any of the objects in the middle of the room, and you don’t even need to be in the cave to notice that. The only thing that is happening is that your body’s reaction to the white light is suppressing the brain’s ability to feel, and even if you are in the cave it will not be until you are in your room and look up at the ceiling and see the light.
This is actually a cool way to relax. It works on the same principle as being in the dark. You dont have to do anything to get it to happen, just close your eyes and try to block out the light and let it take control. Just as long as you are in the dark, you are still doing something to block out the light.
white light is also a form of meditation. For some people it can be a way to achieve a meditative state that they feel is much more effective than sitting in a dark room. For others it can be a method of staying awake and alert when they are tired. For me the best part is that it is also a form of meditation that works for children without causing them to fall asleep.
